Production Planner

Overview Plansee is a global leader in high‑tech applications with tungsten and molybdenum. The Franklin, USA site specializes in transforming semi‑finished molybdenum and tungsten products into complex components with precision manufacturing and engineering excellence. Responsibilities Prepare production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and maximize capacity utilization. Maintain and set material master data, including costing lot size, production lot sizes, and safety stock levels (with approval). Mark and release cost estimates. Analyze, plan, and confirm sales order releases concerning capacity planning and material requirements via SAP and FastPro. Review and plan new sales orders; create production orders; communicate critical dates to other departments as needed; provide timely confirmation of sales orders to Sales. Analyze the master schedule to ensure materials, manpower, and resources are available to support the plan horizon. Establish production order priorities and work with the Production Scheduler to maintain and execute priorities. Monitor exception messages and deltas; initiate changes to resolve production issues. Act as a point of contact for the Sales department on order status updates and communicate schedule changes to affected departments. Collaborate with the Production Scheduler, and at times with Production Management, to resolve production problems. Investigate and report the cause of critical material shortages and initiate corrective action. Keep departments informed about completion dates, material changes or substitutions, and schedule modifications. Interface professionally with all departments, supervisors, and managers as required. Ensure ISO/AS9100 compliance for all processes related to purchasing, planning, and execution of the production schedule, especially for ITAR/EAR work. Provide ad‑hoc reporting as requested. Work overtime as required by production or customer demands. Qualifications Associate’s degree or other two‑year technical degree in a related discipline and three (3) years of related work experience, or a combination of education and work experience equivalent to a degree. APICS certification is a plus. Experience with SAP R/3 Logistics module (emphasis on Production and Production Planning) desired. Strong proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Self‑starter with the ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision. Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑analysis and solving skills.
