Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and the monthly close process. This role will have hands-on responsibility for month-end close, cash and bank reconciliations, invoicing, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Perform daily and monthly cash and bank reconciliations, research discrepancies, and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and process customer invoices, ensuring billing is accurate, complete, and timely.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with cash application and collections as needed.
• Prepare and post recurring and adjusting journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other accounts.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting.
• Research account variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation and accounting records.
• Assist with external audit requests and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve billing, payment, and accounting-related questions.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Experience with cash/bank reconciliations and invoicing strongly preferred.
• Understanding of general ledger accounting and U.S. GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and PivotTables.
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, SAP, or Oracle is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet monthly deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
