Summary The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $15.16-$17/hr. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related reasons. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus commission on sales. The range listed is the estimated base rate plus commission for Teammates in this position. Paid Leave in Applicable States: Paid leave accrues where required by law; one hour of leave is accrued for every 30 hours worked. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and consistently provide legendary service. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs and desires. Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience. Demonstrate product utilizing product knowledge and sales education, consistently sharing that knowledge and education with teammates. Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices. Remain consistent on personal sales, and look for opportunities to impact teammates’ presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG). Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management. Provide legendary service throughout the store in front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area. Help guests try on or fit merchandise. Check out and bag purchases. Prepare merchandise for alterations. Knowledgeable of all exchange and return procedures and exhibit ability to transform into a show‑manship opportunity. Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide daily to accomplish goals. Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty categories (fit appointments, Buckle credit card and guest connect). Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise. Maintain and build good guest relationships to develop a client‑based business. Develop and maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet guest needs. Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the manager is present. Recruit, train, and develop teammates. Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs. Maintain a professional and respectful attitude at all times to create a positive floor culture. Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimum merchandise turn. Stay current on product range. Work with other teammates and guests to identify product improvements, new product ideas and feedback. Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed. Work flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Open and close cash registers, use magnetic card readers, count money, separate charge slips, coupons and vouchers, balance cash drawers, and make deposits. Recognize security risks and handle them, following Loss Prevention guidelines. Maintain knowledge of POS procedures, payment policies and Loss Prevention practices. Perform merchandising tasks such as handling freight, re‑merchandising, preparing displays, completing price markdowns and transfers. Consistently maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store. Provide feedback to store manager and leadership team. Communicate policy violations and teammate or guest concerns to store manager, district manager or HR confidentially. Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies, procedures, and handbooks. Contribute to a positive team spirit and fulfill mission statement. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience No prior experience or training required. Physical Demands The job requires standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and talking. Lifting and maneuvering up to 30 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Regularly works in a retail store environment with moderate noise levels.
