General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant management experience, preferably in a general manager or assistant general manager role
  • Quick-service restaurant experience strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of restaurant financials, labor, food cost, and sales performance
  • Proven track record leading, coaching, and developing teams
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Familiarity with operational, food safety, and cleanliness standards

General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring all standards are met
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and coach employees and management team members
  • Monitor labor, food costs, inventory, and other controllable expenses for optimal profitability
  • Deliver outstanding guest service and promptly resolve customer concerns
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and restaurant appearance
  • Regularly review performance metrics and implement improvement plans
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance team culture
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable regulations
