Salary range: $205K - $285K

About this role

We are looking for a mid-level M&A/PE Associate with 4-8 years of experience to join Armstrong Teasdale's Corporate Services Group. This is a backfill for a high-impact role where you'll spend ~60-70% of your time running deals and the remainder on general corporate work all while getting direct client exposure early and often at a firm that's collaborative, not cutthroat.

What will you be doing?

• Running M&A deals end-to-end, from due diligence through closing
• Drafting and negotiating transactional documents (purchase agreements, merger agreements, financing documents)
• Handling general corporate matters including entity formations, corporate structuring, and ongoing client advisory
• Working closely with partners in a lean team structure, gaining significant client-facing responsibility
• Supporting private equity sponsors and portfolio companies throughout their investment lifecycle

Key Requirements

• 4-8 years of M&A/PE transactional experience (must be able to run a deal independently)
• Law firm experience required (understanding of billing, managing multiple client relationships)
• Licensed to practice law in Missouri or Illinois
• Based in St. Louis or Chicago
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
