Location: Midland Unit/Division: Child and Adolescent Community Health > Child & Adolescent Community Health Service Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Fixed Term - Part Time, Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time Provide compassionate care and support refugee children and families to build healthy futures in WA. Child and Adolescent Health Service has 1.5 full‑time equivalents (FTE) available: 0.8 FTE Permanent Part Time and 0.7 FTE Fixed Term Part Time until September 2026 with potential extensions or transition to permanent employment. Applicants interested in full time may be offered a mixed contract. A current driver's licence is required for this role. About the Role The Child and Adolescent Community Health Service is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Community Health Nurse to join our multidisciplinary Refugee Health Team (RHT) based in Midland. The role focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their care providers through evidence‑based health promotion, education, and early intervention strategies that address the social determinants of health. You will provide high‑quality preventative and early intervention programmes to individuals and groups, with a strong emphasis on supporting refugee young people and their caregivers during their early settlement period as they establish their lives in Western Australia. Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support clients to navigate the health system, strengthen their understanding of health rights, and improve access to appropriate health services. The role requires the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary RHT and the broader Community Health Services. Services are delivered at community health centres, schools, homes and through telehealth appointments with a focus on child health, growth and development, behaviour, immunisation and family support.
