Ethics Intake Analyst (Investigator - Principal Administrative Analyst)

In this role, you’ll serve as the Ethics Intake Analyst (Investigator – Principal Administrative Analyst) , combining technical expertise and leadership to support the Ethics Investigation function. You’ll participate in investigations alongside senior staff; research emerging trends in government laws to ensure the ethics initiatives remain proactive and effective; and prepare statistical and narrative reports that demonstrate the progress of Ethics Office initiatives. This is an opportunity to safeguard due process, protect confidentiality, and play a key role in promoting integrity and accountability across the organization. What You’ll Do Collaborate with Assistant Ethics Officer, Deputy Ethics Officer, and staff to participate in investigations of alleged misconduct and ethics policy violations. Evaluate existing ethics policies and initiatives to make recommendations that strengthen oversight and effectiveness. Research trends in government laws, internal policies, and professional ethics and oversight practices. Prepare statistical and narrative reports to support government reporting requirements and monitor the progress of Ethics Office initiatives. Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to employment and ethics‑related activities. Assess key procedural factors, including due process protections, confidentiality of information, and protection of sources. Schedule: 44/36, Monday through Friday / Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm. Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and, once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule. This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involve confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience. Relevant Experience is defined as: Experience performing the following duties while employed by a government agency: conducting complaint interviews, gathering documents and evidence, and supporting preliminary intake and internal investigations of government officials or government employees. Desirable Qualifications: Investigative experience in government (local, state and/or federal) organizations. Experience conducting ethics investigations and/or internal personnel investigations of policy or law violations. Formally trained at a government academy or government training program in conducting interviews, obtaining evidence, and investigative procedures. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
