This per diem Physician Assistant opportunity offers hands-on involvement in inpatient trauma care, emergency general surgery, first assist in the operating room, and bedside procedures within a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center. Job Details Position Type: Per diem Physician Assistant coverage Specialty: Trauma Surgery / Emergency General Surgery / Acute Care Surgery Setting: Inpatient coverage at a Level II Trauma Center Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts Schedule: Day and night coverage available; no call Coverage Dates: Holiday coverage needs include Dec 23, Dec 24, Dec 25, Dec 26, Dec 27, and Jan 1 Weekly Estimated Pay: $4,300 - $4,610 Location: Williamsport, PA 17701 Job Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience in trauma surgery, acute care surgery, or a related inpatient surgical setting Robotics training required Trauma experience required Ability to function in a fast-paced inpatient environment with strong independent clinical judgment Experience performing bedside procedures such as I&D, laceration repair, chest tube placement, and central line placement Strong collaboration skills with surgeons, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams Current Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license or eligibility to practice in Pennsylvania preferred Responsibilities Provide inpatient Physician Assistant coverage for trauma and emergency general surgery patients Participate in AM rounds and ongoing management of the inpatient surgical service First assist in the operating room, including robotics cases Evaluate and manage new EGS consults and trauma activations Perform bedside procedures including I&Ds, laceration repairs, chest tube placement, central line placement, and wound debridement Support critical care management and coordinate care alongside the surgical team Deliver timely, high-quality coverage during scheduled holiday shifts Location Highlights Williamsport offers a welcoming small-city atmosphere with a strong community feel Enjoy convenient access to outdoor recreation, scenic river views, and local dining options The area provides a comfortable balance of professional opportunity and everyday livability Apply now to join a respected trauma and emergency general surgery team in Williamsport, PA.
