Our organization is actively looking to hire a full-time Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist for a position at a healthcare facility in Schenectady, NY. This facility has been dedicated to assisting individuals in overcoming mental health challenges for over five decades, providing specialized services for adults, children, and adolescents. The adult outpatient clinic, located in a newly updated environment, fosters a supportive, collaborative, and interdisciplinary atmosphere, delivering exceptional mental health care to a diverse population. The clinic features a variety of programs and services, such as integrated primary care, medication management, individual and group therapy, personalized recovery-oriented services (PROS), and crisis diversion services for adults, children, and their families.

Position Overview:

• The Psychiatrist will assess and treat adult patients facing a wide array of mental health issues, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, personality disorders, and dual diagnosis conditions.
• Initial intake appointments allow for up to 90 minutes, while follow-up sessions can last up to 30 minutes.
• In addition to managing medications, there are opportunities for those interested in providing individual psychotherapy or leading psychotherapy groups.
• Work hours are Monday through Friday, with options for 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts.
• On-call duties are compensated separately, typically on a volunteer basis. The usual on-call schedule includes one weeknight (telephone only) every four weeks and one weekend (in-person) every eight weeks.

Qualifications: Candidates should meet the following criteria:

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• DEA and New York State licensure required
• Experience in treating an adult psychiatric patient population
• Strong clinical and communication skills, along with a commitment to team-oriented care

Compensation Package: Our organization provides a competitive salary and benefits package that includes:

• A salary range of $318,449 to $354,957, based on experience, with potential for additional earnings through a quality incentive program.
• The stated salary represents the initial total compensation range and does not account for productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, and other applicable cash compensations. Additionally, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits from their medical group employer. This salary range is provided in compliance with state regulations and may vary based on the aforementioned factors.
• Relocation assistance is available.
• A signing bonus of $35,000.
• Retention bonuses of $15,000 at the start of the second and third years.
