Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Endoscopy RN with scrub experience and a VA or compact RN license for a 13-week assignment at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in the Endoscopy unit across inpatient, outpatient endoscopy center, and portable/bedside travel case settings
• Patient population includes adolescents, neonates, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift options of 5x8 hours (7A-3P) or 4x10 hours (7A-5P), 40 hours/week
• Epic charting system experience required
• Call rotation required: 4 weeknights in a 6-week schedule plus 1 weekend
• Must work one holiday or take call per 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Scrub experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in airway management, conscious sedation recovery, and monitored anesthesia care sedation recovery
• Experience with balloon dilators, dilators, disposable grounding pads, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, foreign body equipment, and polyp snares
• Experience with colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, esophageal varices and banding, circulating, and scrubbing procedures
• Skilled in interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, specimen handling/labeling, obtaining 12-lead ECGs, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience monitoring lab values, isolation protocols, malignant hyperthermia, pain, PCA, and RASS assessments

• Facility is an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted, with limited exceptions for certain inpatient and RRT roles at reduced terms
• Previous employees must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler
• Facility does not permit return of travelers who have worked 365 days on assignment, regardless of separation period, with leadership reviewing exceptions case by case
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront with scheduling request
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
