As our Principal Solutions Architect , you will play a central role in defining that future.

This is more than a traditional architecture position. You will help shape the company's technology strategy, lead the evolution of our proprietary software platforms and intellectual property, mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, engage directly with government customers, and influence the future direction of our advanced solution portfolio.

Working alongside software engineers, AI specialists, simulation developers, and Unity visualization engineers, you will architect scalable, real-time Digital Twin environments that support mission planning, operational analysis, and intelligent decision-making for some of the nation's most complex challenges.

Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Strategy & Product Innovation

• Define the long-term technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for advanced software products and digital capabilities.
• Lead the evolution of the company's proprietary software platforms and intellectual property portfolio.
• Identify emerging technologies, customer needs, operational challenges, and market opportunities to guide future product investments.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, cloud-native architectures, advanced analytics, and automation capabilities.
• Drive product lifecycle strategy from concept and architecture through deployment, enhancement, and long-term sustainment.
• Partner with executive leadership to align technology investments with strategic business objectives.

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Serve as the senior technical authority across software architecture, system design, and solution engineering initiatives.
• Mentor and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Modeling & Simulation engineers, software developers, AI engineers, and Unity 3D visualization developers.
• Establish engineering standards, architectural governance, and software development best practices.
• Lead the transformation of standalone simulation capabilities into fully integrated, real-time Digital Twin environments synchronized with operational data.
• Guide architectural decisions across cloud-native platforms, APIs, data engineering pipelines, cybersecurity, and scalable enterprise software solutions.
• Support the integration of Artificial Intelligence and optimization techniques, including Reinforcement Learning and advanced analytics, into operational software platforms.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, resilient, and aligned with customer mission requirements.

Product Delivery & Solution Development

• Translate customer challenges into scalable technical architectures and actionable product capabilities.
• Define software requirements, technical specifications, development priorities, and product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Agile development teams to manage priorities, release planning, sprint execution, and delivery milestones.
• Lead the design of modular APIs and enterprise data integration frameworks supporting automated data ingestion and analytics.
• Oversee software testing, verification and validation (V&V), deployment, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Drive technical innovation while balancing customer needs, business priorities, and engineering excellence.

Customer Engagement & Strategic Growth

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to government customers, executive leadership, and strategic partners.
• Collaborate directly with customers to understand mission objectives, operational workflows, and emerging technology needs.
• Support business development, capture, and proposal activities by helping shape technical solutions for future opportunities.
• Present technical strategies, product roadmaps, demonstrations, and AI-enabled operational capabilities to both technical and executive audiences.
• Build strong relationships across engineering teams, customer organizations, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, technical consulting, product development, or solution delivery.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a Principal Engineer, Lead Architect, Technical Lead, or Solutions Architect for multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native technologies, and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience designing scalable enterprise software solutions using modern programming languages and development frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

• Modeling & Simulation (M&S)
• Digital Engineering and Digital Twin platforms
• Unity 3D or other real-time visualization technologies
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Reinforcement Learning or optimization algorithms
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
• Python, C#, C++, or R
• Data engineering, analytics, and visualization
• Systems Engineering and MBSE
• Government, defense, homeland security, logistics, transportation, or critical infrastructure environments
• Active Secret, Top Secret, DHS, or other U.S. Government security clearance
