Staff Accountant - Temp

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $35.00 to $40.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

• Record incoming cash activity, including donations and electronic receipts, and ensure entries are posted to the proper accounts.
• Prepare recurring billings, follow up on outstanding receivables, and complete related reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and review transaction details for accuracy before posting.
• Prepare weekly and monthly donation reports and maintain required documentation.
• Provide support to accounts payable and assist with tasks such as vendor forms, credit card inquiries, and insurance certificate needs.

Requirements:

• Ability to perform account analysis and review general ledger activity for variances and trends.
• Skill in supporting year end work, including vendor documentation and related reporting tasks.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing revenue activity, cash transactions, and supporting schedules.
• Comfort working within accounting systems and assisting with multiple accounting functions during close cycles.
• Ability to stay organized and respond promptly to internal requests or follow up items.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, with exposure to non profit or service environments.
• Understanding of the accounting cycle, including payables, receivables, and general ledger activity.
• Previous experience using accounting software and proficiency with Excel and common office applications.
• Strong analytical ability, clear communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a team.
