Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of recent pediatric CVICU experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) setting within a nationally ranked children's hospital
• Variable day/night shifts (3x12 hours), day shift 7:00-19:00 and night shift 19:00-7:00
• 13-week assignment with a December 7 start date only
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat nights for night shift, Sat/Sun for day shift)
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, in hand or with a confirmed ETA from licensing
• Current BLS and PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric CVICU experience required
• Formal training and full orientation as a staff/core nurse in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU required
• Heart transplant experience required
• Strong pediatric cardiac skills including congenital heart disease/repair, hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post cardiac surgery care
• Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiac patients including pre- and post-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization care
• Located at a Magnet-recognized, Level 1 trauma, teaching facility named a Top 10 Children's Hospital
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Free traveler parking available
• Maximum RTO of 6 days; must still work 3 shifts per week
• No RTO accommodated for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
• Required to work 1 of 2 holidays (Christmas and New Year's), including Eves
• First-time travelers accepted only if candidate has strong relevant experience
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
• Travelers who reach their one-year mark must wait 90 days before returning as a traveler
