Tax Accountant

CPA firm located in Newtown, CT is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. We are a reputable professional services firm, providing accounting and tax services to clients of various industries, with a commitment to business ethics and client service. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on detail with a desire to grow professionally in a challenging industry where client satisfaction is paramount.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, corporate and partnership tax returns in compliance with federal and state tax laws.
• Calculation of personal and business estimated Federal and State tax payments.
• Developing tax minimization strategies and implementing them accordingly.
• Communicate with accounting staff to ensure timely deliverable review of financial statements with a focus on profit maximization.
• A strong commitment to professional education and remaining up to date with current trends and tax law changes.

Qualifications

• Professional licensure required - either Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA).
• Minimum 5 years experience in the preparation and review of Federal and State tax returns.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
• Software knowledge - tax software (UltraTax is a plus); Microsoft Office; Quickbooks Online and Desktop.
• Ability to successfully work in a fast paced deadline oriented environment.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on delivering results to achieve client satisfaction.
