Job Description About This Role Future Leaders of Excellence is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our classroom team. This position works closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children can learn, grow, and build confidence. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is a strong team player, follows direction well, and is committed to providing quality early childhood care and education.

What You'll Do Support the Lead Teacher with daily lessons, activities, and classroom routines. Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance to children throughout the day. Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment. Encourage children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Assist with meals, transitions, arrival, dismissal, play, and daily care routines. Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety. Support classroom observations, documentation, and other assigned tasks. Communicate professionally with children, families, teachers, and administration. Follow FLOE policies, procedures, and applicable Tennessee child care licensing requirements. Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with young children preferred. CDA, TCC, Associate degree, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Relevant child care experience may be considered in place of formal education when permitted by licensing requirements. CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe. Must successfully complete required background checks, fingerprinting, reference verification, and health screening. Strong communication, teamwork, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to actively participate in a preschool classroom, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor. Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds when necessary.
