instructional supports for high schools. This individual will provide leadership, guidance,
coaching and support to high school principals and assistant principals to drive student
achievement and ensure the implementation of district curriculum, policies and
procedures. This individual will work to ensure that all secondary sites are equipped to
produce college and career ready graduates. This role provides direct oversight,
mentorship, and evaluation to high school principals, focusing on the expansion of
rigorous academic pathways, the management of athletic and fine arts departments,
safety, and the continuous improvement of graduation rates and post-secondary
outcomes.

position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Member of School Leadership Team
2. Supervision and Evaluation: Conduct regular observations and evaluations of
assigned school principals to assess their performance in various areas,
including instructional leadership, school management, and community
engagement.
3. Safety: Supervise and evaluate the District Safety Coordinator, ensuring that the
district's comprehensive safety plan is not only compliant with state and federal
mandates but is also seamlessly integrated into the daily operational fabric of our
high school campuses.
4. Professional Development: Design and implement professional development
programs and training sessions tailored to the needs of individual principals and
assistant principals, aimed at enhancing their leadership skills, instructional
practices, and decision-making abilities. This position will work with the Chief of
Schools and Staff to lead monthly principal meetings and will take the lead role
on facilitating monthly high school assistant principal meetings.
5. Coaching and Mentoring: Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to
principals and assistant principals, offering constructive feedback, guidance, and
support to help them address challenges, overcome obstacles, and achieve their
professional goals.
6. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with district leadership to develop and
implement strategic plans and initiatives that align with the goals and objectives
of the school district, ensuring that principals are equipped to lead effectively in
line with these priorities.
7. Policy Implementation: Ensure that principals are knowledgeable about and
compliant with district policies, procedures, and regulations, providing guidance
and clarification as needed to support their adherence to established standards.
8. Data Analysis: Analyze performance data, academic outcomes, and other
relevant metrics to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making
processes aimed at enhancing school effectiveness and student achievement.
9. Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians,
community members, and other stakeholders, serving as a liaison between
principals and the broader community to promote transparency, collaboration,
and mutual understanding.
10. Crisis Management: Provide leadership and support to principals and assistant
principals in navigating crisis situations, emergencies, or other challenging
circumstances, ensuring that appropriate protocols are followed and effective
communication strategies are employed.
11. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with district
administrators, school board members, and other stakeholders to promote a cohesive and supportive educational environment, while also maintaining open
and transparent communication channels with principals.
12. Event Attendance: Attendance at high school evening events as assigned by
the Chief of Schools and Staff.
13. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of current trends, best practices, and
research in educational leadership and administration, continuously seeking
opportunities for professional growth and improvement to enhance the
effectiveness of principal supervision and support.
14. Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS): Assists the Director of Student
Services in facilitating and ensuring consistent implementation of MTSS practices
and procedures in all high schools.
15. Athletics: Coordinate with the District Athletic Director to implement effective
operating systems and record keeping for high school athletics.
16. Vertical Alignment: Collaborate with the Director of Middle Schools to create
seamless transitions for students and parents/guardians.
17. Other Duties as Assigned: Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief of
Schools & Staff.
LENGTH OF CONTRACT:
Two hundred and forty (240) contract days.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Chief of Schools and Staff in
accordance with the provisions of the Edmond School Board's policies and State Law of
Oklahoma.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the organization, administration, and supervision of assigned high
school principals or programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Valid administrative certification/license
? Previous experience as a school principal or in a related leadership role
? Demonstrated success in instructional leadership, school management, and
personnel supervision
? Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
? Ability to analyze data, make data-driven decisions, and implement
evidence-based practices ? Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and regulations governing education
? Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education
? Ability to travel between school sites within the district as needed
? Ability to work cooperatively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative,
and follow state and district guidelines. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
? Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the area of curriculum
and/or administration or other relevant field required. Doctoral degree preferred.
? Minimum of three (3) years of current school administration experience and/or
central office experience required.
? Minimum of three (3) years as a building principal required.
? Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a teacher in public
schools.
? Central office leadership experience or equivalent education, training, and
relevant professional experience are also considered.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general
public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so. Maintain
accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of
position.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
