Maintenance Apprentice

About the Role Bimbo Bakeries USA invites you to join our team as a Maintenance Apprentice. In this entry‑level position you will learn and develop maintenance skills necessary for the safe and efficient operation of bakery equipment. Basic Purpose / Scope The Maintenance Apprentice will complete required coursework and on‑the‑job training to become proficient in inspections, preventive and predictive maintenance, emergency repairs, and mechanical troubleshooting of bakery machinery. Principal Accountabilities Learn all safety requirements, mechanical, troubleshooting, communication, and behavioral skillsets to meet qualified mechanic standards. Complete required coursework to develop maintenance skillsets. Perform preventive maintenance on bakery equipment. Assist in the inspection and upkeep of machinery and equipment. Repair or replace components on motors, pumps, mixers, conveyor lines, ovens, coolers, etc. Inspect and replace belts, hoses, and drive components as needed. Ensure equipment integrity and timely repair. Document work orders accurately. Maintain, guard, and operate equipment in accordance with safety regulations. Understand line downtime and waste caused by equipment issues and identify improvement focus areas. Participate in root‑cause problem solving as part of a team. Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities. Encourage a safety‑conscious work environment. Position Requirements Fluent in English. Pass required exam/test for acceptance into Apprenticeship program. Flexibility to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as scheduled. Able to attain basic maintenance skills. Able to attain basic computer skills. Ability to work on the ground level with proper safety training and equipment. Ability to work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment. Preferred: Experience in a bakery.
