AUTOMATED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE (AMI) TECHNICIAN (CLASS CODE 3451)

Job Overview An employee in this position provides installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair for all Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) at the Sewerage and Water Board. Duties include connecting and disconnecting water service, installing AMI meters, checking and repairing leaks, changing out meters, repairing or replacing broken meter boxes or parts, answering customer questions about meter readings, high usage or bills, leaks, and related work as required. Responsibilities Provide installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair for all AMI at the Sewerage and Water Board. Connect and disconnect water service. Install AMI meters. Check and repair leaks. Change out meters. Repair or replace broken meter boxes or parts. Answer customer questions about meter readings, high usage or bills, leaks. Perform related work as required. Qualifications A valid driver’s license. High School Diploma or GED. Either: Two years of experience in water meter installation, repair, meter reading or water distribution; OR permanent status in the classification of Automated Metering Infrastructure Technician, Trainee.
