Job Title: Manager,  Master Scheduling 

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Project Management Office

Reports to: Manager, SIOP & Portfolio Governance 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

This position serves as both the Master Scheduler and Scheduling Manager, combining hands-on ownership of the master production schedule with leadership responsibility for scheduling and project controls functions. The role is responsible for planning manufacturing activities to support customer commitments, production capacity, and project execution needs. This position also manages project controls personnel who provide administrative support to project managers, including project scheduling, schedule status updates, reporting support, and related coordination activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Leadership, Management, and Talent Development

• Function as a working manager by directly maintaining the Master Production Schedule while also leading the scheduling and project controls team.
• Manage project controls personnel, set priorities, provide direction, and ensure administrative scheduling support is aligned with project manager and business needs.
• Lead planning and scheduling activities to ensure daily, weekly, and long-range manufacturing goals are met.
• Support and ensure EHS is fully engaged in maintaining a safe work environment and culture

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Maintain, influence, and improve digital status reporting for all active build projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, Manufacturing leadership, Value Stream Leaders, Supply Chain, and other internal stakeholders on schedule adjustments, feasibility, lead times, and execution priorities.
• Clearly communicate gaps, opportunities, risks, and constraints within the Master Production Schedule and project schedules.
• Coordinate schedule improvements with Value Stream Leaders to maximize efficiency, cost performance, and quality.
• Provide guidance and expertise to production, project management, and project controls teams on schedule optimization and disciplined schedule administration.

Operational Planning & Forecasting

• Plan manufacturing activities by translating project, production, customer, and cross-functional demands into an executable manufacturing schedule.
• Create, monitor, and maintain the ERP Master Production Schedule while balancing current and future operational capacity.
• Coordinate value stream capacity planning efforts and identify schedule risks, constraints, and recovery options.
• Direct project controls work related to administrative project scheduling, schedule updates, reporting support, and coordination with project managers.
• Communicate with Production Planning to understand supply or demand changes impacting the Master Schedule.
• Engage with Value Stream Leaders on insource and outsource opportunities within the Master Production Schedule.
• Incorporate and improve internal system dependencies within the order-to-delivery process.
• Collaborates with both the Inventory Control and SPB groups on the forecasting and availability of inventoried and just-in-time product
• Responsible for creating and maintaining valid build schedules and releasing orders to support production and service parts requirements

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Project Management, Business, or related field preferred.

Experience: 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in master scheduling, production planning, materials planning, manufacturing operations, project controls, or project scheduling required; management or team leadership experience strongly preferred.

Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, master production scheduling, capacity planning, manufacturing planning, project schedule administration, configuration control, and schedule reporting. IFS experience preferred.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead scheduling or project controls personnel, assign priorities, coach team members, hold accountability for work quality, and balance hands-on execution with management responsibilities.

Licenses/Certifications: APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or scheduling/project controls certification preferred.

*Or equivalent combination of 10+ years of education and experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management or Business.

Loram determines compensation based on factors such as skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. Certain positions may be eligible for an annual bonus and paid time off in addition to base compensation.
