Posting Note: Our organization is in search of a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to become part of our expanding and nationally recognized program at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD).

This role will primarily be situated at one of our satellite outpatient facilities (Arrowhead or East Valley), where you will deliver exceptional, family-focused hematology and oncology services within a community-oriented environment. Additionally, the position entails inpatient responsibilities at our main campus in Phoenix (approximately 6-8 weeks per year), fostering strong integration with the larger division and ensuring continuity of care across various settings.

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient services in pediatric hematology and oncology at a satellite clinic.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of benign hematologic conditions and pediatric cancers.
• Provide ongoing care, including survivorship and supportive services.
• Participate in inpatient services at the main campus (approximately 6-8 weeks annually).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and program development.

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Eligible for licensure in Arizona.
• A strong commitment to clinical excellence and teamwork.

The CCBD is among the largest pediatric hematology and oncology programs in the Southwest, featuring over 50 providers and a robust presence in clinical research, subspecialty care, and programmatic expansion.

The staff physician will provide patient care services and support our mission of delivering hope, healing, and the highest quality healthcare for children and their families.

• Patient Care Services

  • Deliver patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including but not limited to:
    • Direct patient care on both inpatient and outpatient bases.
    • Subspecialty consultations and follow-up care.
    • Diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
    • Urgent/emergent care as necessary.
  • Aim to provide the best patient and family-centered care.
  • Support the hospital's patient satisfaction goals and the division's specific targets.
  • Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality care standards.
  • Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine or the latest experience-based approaches.

• Divisional Responsibilities

  • Establish and work towards achieving annual physician goals and objectives (individual, division, hospital).
  • Support the medical education initiatives of the division, including:
    • Supervising trainees and allied health professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services when applicable.
    • Conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.
    • Participating in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals assigned to the division.
    • Engaging in postgraduate continuing education activities of the division.
  • Support the division's research initiatives, including those led by other members.
  • Contribute to the programmatic growth of the division.
  • Assist with satellite efforts of the division when appropriate.

  • Essential physical and mental skills include:
    • The ability to communicate via telephone, computer, or other devices.
    • The capacity to perform after-hours or night call responsibilities as needed.
    • The ability to maintain regular work hours.
