Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - IV start experience - Telemetry experience Description: Weekdays and some weekends are required. Rotating holidays are part of the schedule. There is a requirement to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Estimated patient ratios are 1:3. Experience in a Progressive Care Unit is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory. Skills required include IV start, telemetry experience, and central line care/management. Responsibilities involve managing cardiac drips and IV insulin protocols. Interpretation of dysrhythmias is part of the role. Daily rounding with interdisciplinary support teams is expected. There will be a wide variety of diagnoses including renal, cardiology, and pulmonology. Special procedures include cardiac drips, heparin, insulin drips, and high flow oxygen management. The unit accommodates adult patients and geriatrics. There is a focus on patient-centered care and evidence-based practice. Candidates must be able to complete required credentialing processes promptly. Availability for weekend coverage is expected.
