Job Description

The Treasury Division of the Finance Department is seeking an individual for advanced professional-level accounting work. This position involves a high degree of independence in performing accounting duties and assisting in revenue collection activities for the City.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties include supervising and coordinating clerical accounting tasks, preparing journal entries and complex bank reconciliations, reconciling general ledger and subsidiary accounts, preparing sales tax returns and various financial reports, contacting and working with state, county, and other local agencies, processing documents for automated systems, tracking financial transactions, assisting external auditors, and performing related duties as required.

Qualifications

The qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field, experience in general or municipal accounting, ability to make independent decisions within established accounting policies, ability to prepare, analyze, interpret, and present complex financial data, proficient use of personal computers including Microsoft Word & Excel, and strong communication skills.
