Facility Custodian Location: 241 Greenhouse Road, Lexington, VA
Employer: Rockbridge Area Community Services (RACS) Position Overview: The Facility Custodian is responsible for maintaining RACS facilities and grounds in a clean, safe, and professional condition for clients, visitors, and staff. Working independently with minimal supervision, this position performs a variety of custodial and light maintenance duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, waste removal, and furniture relocation. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment while handling responsibilities with professionalism and confidentiality. Qualifications:
Background Investigation Requirements : All applicants are subject to a background investigation. Investigations may include fingerprint checks (State Police); local agency checks; employment verification; verification of education (relevant to employment); and other checks based on the position. Probationary Period : All persons that are newly hired, rehired, transferred, promoted, or demoted into a Rockbridge Area Community Services position must serve a new 6-month probationary period.

Qualifications:
- One to three years of custodial, janitorial, facilities maintenance, or related experience required.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of a daily custodial workload, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and other routine maintenance activities.
- Working knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and facility maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, products, tools, and equipment, including proper handling, storage, and safety protocols.
- Ability to identify and perform minor building repairs and maintenance tasks and report larger issues as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work professionally within a behavioral healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining client privacy and confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and applicable regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, work assignments, and scheduling needs.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
