Part-Time Medical Director, Vascular Sonography

SUMMARY This is a part-time Medical Director position for the Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography Department. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Participate in program planning and evaluation of instruction for all aspects of cardiovascular sonography in cooperation and collaboration with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education. Participate in teaching of students. Assure that the students receive adequate physician contact. Evaluate and instruct program faculty. Serve as the liaison physician between the program and other medical professionals. Guide, advise, and advance the program by providing active and timely medical direction. Participate in program accreditation activities every five (5) to ten (10) years. Serve as a member of the Advisory Committee and attend meetings. Provide guidance as to curriculum content and sequence. Assist to determine and update program goals. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Licensed physician. EXPERIENCE Training and experience in cardiovascular diseases and therapy. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES An active interest in the education of qualified cardiovascular sonographers. WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee typically works in a classroom environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a classroom. Employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr Alvin Community College
