Postdoctoral Fellow (Experimental Particle Physics) – William & Mary Location: Williamsburg, VA. Start date: August 1, 2026. Salary: $65,000–$70,000 per year. Full‑time. Job Description Summary The Department of Physics at William & Mary invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in experimental particle physics. The fellow will join the W&M particle physics group working on Fermilab-based neutrino experiments, including NOvA, MINERvA, and DUNE. The fellow will take on hardware or software/analysis responsibilities in DUNE and lead the analysis of data from NOvA. The DUNE group is active in NDLAr, TMS, HV, and FD‑HD consortia. The NOvA group works on three‑flavor oscillation physics and broader physics program. Responsibilities The appointed researcher will: Develop and maintain hardware and software for DUNE experiments. Lead analysis of NOvA data, focusing on flavor oscillation physics. Collaborate with national consortia (NDLAr, TMS, HV, FD‑HD). Contribute to publications, grant proposals, and conference presentations. Qualifications Required: Ph.D. in Physics or related field, completed by the start date. Preferred: Experience in experimental particle physics data analysis and hardware design, construction, and operation. Familiarity with neutrino experiments such as NOvA, MINERvA, and DUNE. Strong programming, simulation, or detector‑related skills. Appointment Initial appointment of 12 months with possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.
