Lead Data Engineer

Lead Data Engineer U.S. Bank is selecting a Lead Data Engineer to design and execute large‑scale data projects that ingest, clean, and analyze financial data. The role maintains data integrity, ensures regulatory compliance, and improves operational efficiency. Responsibilities Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest, process, and store financial data from internal and external sources. Integrate structured and unstructured data from accounting software, trading platforms, and market feeds. Build and optimize relational and non‑relational databases (SQL, NoSQL) to support reporting and analytics. Implement data quality checks and enforce data governance policies to comply with GDPR, SOX, and other regulations. Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and IT teams to deliver usable data for analysis and decision‑making. Automate repetitive data processing tasks and continuously monitor and improve pipeline performance. Provide financial data for dashboards, reports, and visualizations, and work with finance teams to structure data for analysis. Securely store financial data, monitor access controls, and address security and privacy standards. Troubleshoot data pipelines, databases, and data integrity issues and support financial reporting systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 7+ years of experience administering data, managing databases, and designing data pipelines. Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Scala and experience with cloud data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or RDS. Strong knowledge of data pipeline tools (Kafka, Airflow, ETL frameworks) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience with relational databases and best practices for data architecture and design. Preferred Skills Application development tools and information management. Data warehousing, data movement tools, and on‑prem and cloud solutions. Application delivery process, IT environment, and hybrid/flexible work schedule.
