Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of recent neuro/telemetry experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) treating a mix of Medical-Surgical (MS) and PCU patients,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00,
• Patient ratio of 1:4,
• Float requirement among five hospitals within skillset, including floating to ICU for downgraded PCU patients,
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) coverage required,
• Block scheduling is not permitted,
• Epic EMR experience preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (NJ or Compact) with current Nursys verification,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (ASLS preferred),
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience, with recent experience within the last 12 months,
• Neuro experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Must be clean shaven to complete fit testing prior to working on the unit,
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing (maximum two attempts),
• BLS certification must not expire within 30 days of the assignment start date,
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions,

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac and telemetry monitoring, manage cardiac drips without titration, and deliver neuro and respiratory care as needed,
• Complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing,
• RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration; requests made afterward will not be accepted,
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment,
• Travel pairs are not accepted; candidates are considered individually,
• First-time travelers are accepted but not preferred,
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced local rate
