Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Oncology Specialty: Hematology Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Current RN License issued by the appropriate state board, or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. - ACLS (American Heart Association). - Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society. - ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society. Must-Have: ONS/ONCC certifications required. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician order for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans during hospitalization and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Maintains good working relationships with other employees. Exhibits good verbal and written communication skills. Responds effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Possesses basic computer skills.
