Key Responsibilities

• Conduct direct evaluations and re-evaluations in physical therapy, assessing both prior and current functional levels, establishing suitable goals, and making discharge recommendations in line with practice standards.
• Deliver direct physical therapy treatments according to established standards, which includes educating patients and their families, advancing treatment plans, and implementing appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Utilize the correct documentation forms and adhere to the documentation standards set by PM&R.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members regarding patient treatment and progress, as well as with affiliated agencies.
• Actively engage in meetings, in-services, and rounds related to patient care and departmental matters.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and rehabilitation technicians, and provide instruction to PT interns and other students as needed, while also mentoring less experienced staff.
• Manage and prioritize your schedule based on patient treatment demands and other departmental duties.
• Contribute to program development as directed by the PT Clinical Leader.
• Participate in a minimum of 20 contact hours of continuing education or other learning opportunities to maintain professional competency.
• Conduct at least two in-services annually for staff and/or the community for educational purposes.
• Comply with all Department of Health and Joint Commission regulations concerning the physical environment and patient care.
• Engage in at least one non-clinical activity, such as serving on committees or task forces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
• A minimum of 2 years of current clinical practice, as defined by educational requirements.
• Possession of a current Physical Therapist license in D.C. or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in D.C.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year .
