Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and through various channels with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives. Takes a lead in proactively engaging with existing customers and prospects by providing needs‑based assessments to grow loyalty and identify immediate/future opportunities. Responsibilities Engage customers to complete needs assessments that identify financial solutions and preferred banking channels while recommending tailored solutions addressing both sales and service needs. Offer clients advice and guidance on available digital and self‑serve options with the goal of making banking easy, simple, and fast. Support customer transaction needs based on traffic. Generate appointments, build new relationships within the community, and grow BMO’s business. Address questions and resolve issues raised through consumer credit audits and quality checks, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Apply the risk management framework to protect the Bank’s assets and maintain quality of the lending portfolio. Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, in accordance with sound credit granting principles and the Bank’s policies. Participate as a key member of a collaborative and versatile branch and market team, integrating marketing promotions and programs into conversations. Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Find creative approaches that personalize each customer’s experience and contribute to ongoing improvement of overall customer experience. Work across multiple branches or channels as needed; work schedule may vary. Follow risk and compliance processes and policies to safeguard customers’ assets, privacy, and best interest. Keep current with broader financial services, legal and regulatory environment, and maintain knowledge of personal banking products. Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering. Handle escalations, analyze issues, and determine next steps, completing complex tasks within given rules and limits. Take measured risks while protecting the bank, making sound and risk‑informed decisions aligned to business strategy. Qualifications Typically between 2–3 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Canada only: Registration to sell investment products completed (as appropriate) and appropriate lending qualifications and designations. Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions, retail investments, and lending products. Experience in financial services is an asset. Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications. Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience. Resourceful self‑starter with confidence and courage to approach customers. Strong interpersonal, listening, problem‑solving, and creative response skills. Strong organizational and collaboration/team skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $41,714.00–$65,000.00 (Salaried). The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. May include commission structure. For part‑time roles, salary is pro‑rated.
