About This Role The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Northwell Health is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Highlights Location: Bay Shore, NY Facility: Southside Hospital Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift What You'll Do Collect and organize patient data systematically using all possible resources. Examine patients to determine physical status through interview, observation, and inspection. Identify and record patients' physical and psycho-social conditions, including history and health habits. Formulate care plans that prioritize patient needs and expected outcomes. Collaborate with the health team to address patient needs. Identify patients' educational needs and coping mechanisms. Deliver care that communicates the worth and dignity of patients. Administer medications and treatments according to established policies and procedures. Evaluate patient progress toward goal achievement using current data. Write admission and discharge notes reflecting patients' statuses. Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment if hired after September 1, 2010, and obtain a BSN degree within five years. Experience 1 year of med-surg/tele RN experience preferred. Licenses & Certifications Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS required.
