HVAC/Mechanical Engineer - Elk Grove, IL

Job Description Job Description We are a MEP Engineering firm located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago in Elk Grove Village, Illinois and currently seeking a HVAC Engineer to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment. Our HVAC Engineers are responsible for designing building HVAC systems and producing HVAC construction documentation for commercial and institutional projects, with an emphasis on educational facilities. Job Functions and Primary Responsibilities As an HVAC Engineer you will be responsible for: Design of HVAC Systems to include: * Heat Loss/Heat Gain calculations. * Ductwork design and distribution. * Hot water and chilled water piping design and distribution. * Building automation systems knowledge. * Interact with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to review, define and design to meet customer requirements. * Candidates need to be highly self-directed and capable of running multiple concurrent projects with minimal direction. We are looking for talented individuals who can effectively manage their time and workload to complete work timely. * Develop Client Relationships. * Some travel will be required to meet with clients and field survey existing conditions. * Knowledge of Building an Energy codes. Candidate Background Candidates will meet the following requirements: * 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Design. * Experience and understanding of REVIT designer software, including AutoCAD. * Professional Engineering (PE) license a plus, but not required. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Strong interpersonal skills and experience helping to maintain successful Client relationships. * Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline environment. * LEED AP accreditation a plus. * Confident, self-starter, with a positive attitude with colleagues and clients.
