Step into an exciting contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, shaping young minds through the Learning for Life Program. This full-time position offers the chance to make a direct impact, working onsite with a dedicated group of 15 students from August 17th through June 4th. The school day runs from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, providing both structure and the ability to support students’ unique strengths and growth over the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current Special Education (SPED) teaching certification is required
- Experience in special education or with specialized programs is strongly preferred
- Aptitude for working with diverse learners, providing tailored instruction and support
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Compassion, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to students’ well-being and success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and adapt lessons to meet various learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and administration within the Learning for Life Program
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
- Create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment promoting both academic and social-emotional growth
- Communicate progress and strategies regularly with families, keeping them engaged and informed
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary planning
