What You'll Do As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll play an important role in supporting the health and well-being of Early Head Start children and families. You'll work closely with families, healthcare providers, and program staff to ensure children receive the screenings, care, and follow-up services they need to thrive. In this role, you will: Monitor child health requirements and help ensure compliance with Early Head Start and federal performance standards. Partner with families to support children's medical, dental, hearing, vision, and developmental health needs. Educate families on prenatal care, well-child visits, preventive health practices, and healthy development. Build relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations to coordinate services and resources. Conduct health screenings, including hearing, vision, hemoglobin, and lead testing as needed. Support Family Educators and Family Services staff through training, consultation, and joint home visits. Complete postpartum visits and provide health-related support for expecting and new parents. Assist with recruitment efforts, maintain accurate records, and ensure confidentiality at all times. Travel throughout the service area to support children and families where they are. Most importantly, you'll help children get a healthy start in life while supporting families and strengthening connections to healthcare and community resources.RequirementsWhat We'll Love About You Valid Michigan Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Experience working with young children and families, particularly in an early childhood setting, preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and the ability to learn program databases and screening systems. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. In addition, you'll bring: Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with families, healthcare providers, and community partners. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. A high level of professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.
