This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The department operates as a Level II trauma center and a comprehensive stroke center, receiving a high volume of visits annually. Patient ratios typically maintain a 4:1 standard, with potential for up to 7:1 on behavioral holds. Nursing staff are supported by technicians who assist with cardiac monitoring, triage, and clerical duties. Advanced skills are required for various procedures performed within the unit.
