Details Posted: 29-May-26 Location: Alfred, New York Type: Part-time Salary: $19,200-$20,300 (10‑month position) Categories: Coaching – Track & Field Sector: Professional Sports Required Education: 4‑Year Degree Recruiting Coordinator Responsibilities Overall assistance with achieving annual recruiting goals for men's and women's track and field and cross‑country teams. Market the Alfred University track and field programs to cultivate and recruit prospective applicants. Communicate with high‑school and club track and field coaches regarding prospective students. Correspond consistently with prospective student‑athletes. Organize and assist with prospective student campus visits. Attend high‑school and club track meets to identify quality candidates. Enter recruiting data in the athletic department database. Complete routine office work and reports related to recruitment. Other duties as assigned. Essential Functions Teach, coach, and mentor student‑athletes. Set up and tear down the facility for practice and competition; analyze performance. Recruit student‑athletes on and off‑campus. Other Duties & Responsibilities Assist in teaching and supervising student‑athletes. Demonstrate competence in sport skill instruction. Conduct small‑group and large‑group practice sessions under the head coach’s direction. Adhere to all sport governing, department, and institutional rules and policies. Show sincere interest in the personal, academic, and athletic growth of student‑athletes. Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior in pursuit of sport program goals set by the head coach. Demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior. Effectively complete tasks assigned by the head coach or full‑time assistant coach. Transport students in a university vehicle to practice and/or competition. Maintain a safe working environment within and around the facilities and associated equipment, including obtaining Safety Data Sheet information for hazards. Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols. Participate in all required trainings. Communicate highly effectively in written and oral forms. Commit to diversity, equity and inclusion with cultural competence and respect for diverse identities. Contribute to the overall success of the university by performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Minimum four years as a head or assistant track and field coach and/or collegiate track and field student‑athlete. Preference for experience in throws, jumps, vaults, or sprints. Highly effective communication skills. Willing to take initiative. Highly reliable, flexible, and adaptable. Knowledge of and ability to use sport‑related technology is an asset. Valid U.S. driver’s license. CPR and AED certified by the time of employment. Ability to work evenings and weekends.
