We are seeking experienced Tax Credit / Affordable Housing Office Professionals for temporary and temp-to-hire staffing assignments with residential property management communities.

This position is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), affordable housing, leasing, compliance, recertifications, resident files, and property management office operations who are comfortable entering different property environments and quickly adapting to each community’s procedures.

Assignments may vary in length and location depending on client needs. Candidates must be dependable, professional, flexible, and capable of working independently with limited training.

Responsibilities

• Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:
• Assisting Property Managers and site teams with daily office operations
• Processing affordable housing and Tax Credit applications
• Completing or assisting with initial certifications and annual recertifications
• Reviewing resident and applicant files for accuracy and completeness
• Gathering and processing income, asset, employment, Social Security, pension, unemployment, child support, and other required verifications
• Calculating household income and assets
• Maintaining organized and audit-ready resident files
• Following up with residents regarding missing documents
• Tracking certification and recertification deadlines
• Assisting with LIHTC compliance requirements
• Correcting file deficiencies
• Preparing files for internal and external audits
• Processing move-ins, move-outs, transfers, and household changes
• Preparing leases, addendums, notices, and resident correspondence
• Maintaining applicant waiting lists when required
• Answering phones and responding to resident and prospect inquiries
• Providing professional customer service to residents and applicants
• Collecting and posting rent or other payments when required
• Assisting with delinquency notices and resident account questions
• Entering and updating information in property management software
• Managing email, filing, scanning, copying, and general administrative duties
• Maintaining confidentiality of resident and applicant information
• Following Fair Housing laws and property policies
• Supporting site staff during vacations, leaves of absence, staffing shortages, lease-ups, file cleanup projects, audits, and high-volume periods
• Performing additional property management office duties based on assignment needs

Required Qualifications

• Previous hands-on LIHTC / Low-Income Housing Tax Credit experience
• Previous affordable housing or multifamily property management experience
• Experience with certifications and annual recertifications
• Experience reviewing and maintaining resident files
• Knowledge of income and asset verification requirements
• Understanding of Fair Housing regulations
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to quickly learn property-specific policies and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Professional customer service skills
• Ability to handle confidential resident information
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work effectively in different property management office environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, email, scanning, and general office equipment

Compensation

$20- $23 hourly
