Assistant Superintendent – Multifamily Construction
Location: San Diego, CA
A well-established and growing Owner Builder Developer is seeking an Assistant Superintendent with experience in ground-up multifamily construction to join their team in the San Diego area. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale projects with a company that offers a strong pipeline and long-term stability.
Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent will support the Lead Superintendent in managing daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing day-to-day field operations on ground-up multifamily projects
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure work is completed per schedule
- Help enforce job site safety standards and company policies
- Monitor quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
- Support scheduling and sequencing of trades
- Participate in site meetings and provide progress updates
- Assist with inspections and project closeout
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of construction experience, with multifamily ground-up projects
- Experience supporting a Superintendent on active job sites
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and leadership skills
