Radiology Technologist

Description This position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Hours Of Operation Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday/Sunday 8am-4pm. Employment Type Full time. Shift Rotating Shift. Urgent Care Shift Differentials $2.00 per hour during regular business hours $4.00 per hour after 5pm and weekends Position Description This position operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain quality digital images of designated body portions for interpretation by physicians. Essential Job Functions Confirms patient identity, checks in patients, schedules appointments. Creates Radiology Module. Greets and escorts patients to examination room. Interprets patient histories and physician instructions. Prepares patients for procedures using aseptic technique. Positions patients. Selects exposure factors, takes exposure, processes images. Practices radiation protection. Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures using ionizing radiation to produce digitized images. May operate bone density equipment to obtain information and images per ISCD criteria. Records requisition information. Directly enters orders into EMR per guidelines. Responds to patient emergencies. Cleans work area and equipment. Performs limited maintenance. Performs image-management duties in PACS and NextGen. Documents patient information. Handles checkout duties, ensures forms completed. Sends letters and reminders. Liaises between patient and physician. Ensures follow-up. Maintains compliance with government and reimbursement requirements. Provides support to clerical and clinical staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology school or equivalent. For bone density imaging: graduation from an accredited clinical densitometry school or equivalent. Valid CPR certification. Valid APRT registration. Valid ICID certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire. 1-2 years of experience. Position Requirements (abilities & Skills) Knowledge of patient care/radiology procedures. Ability to practice radiation protection. Proficiency in medical terminology and basic mathematics. Computer proficiency (EMR, email, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). Excellent communication skills. Team collaboration and interpersonal skills with diverse populations. Cross‑training ability. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Sound judgment and problem‑solving. Confidentiality. Compliance awareness. Completion of competency‑based training. Willingness to travel to other sites. Minimum Physical Expectations Keyboarding and computer work. Handling patient movement and lifting up to 100 lbs. Good vision, manual dexterity, hearing, and speaking ability. Minimum Environmental Expectations Work in a medical facility with frequent walking and exposure to hazardous materials, sharps, x‑rays, and patient conditions.
