Electrical AssemblerPowell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry. The Electrical Assembler will perform various duties on power control rooms including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit. Four 10s Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-1:00amEssential ResponsibilitiesInstall electrical devices (disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, lighting contactors, VFDs, etc.)Bend, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid)Install wirewayInstall cable trayPull wire and large cableCut, strip, crimp, and terminate wiresInstall wiring by following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual)Learn and adhere to all safety policies and practices to avoid safety incidentsLearn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure consistent productionEnsure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product qualityEnsure that work areas remain clean and well organizedMinimum QualificationsMinimum of high school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experienceMust have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbalAbility to perform basic mathematical calculationsKnowledge of air, hand, and power toolsBasic mechanical knowledgeAbility to read a tape measurePreferred QualificationsAbility to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid)Experience installing cable trayExperience installing wire wayAbility to crimp and terminate wiresAbility to read drawings or blueprintsWorking knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components (panel boards, transformers, disconnects, terminal blocks, relays, lighting contactors, etc.)Basic exposure to and awareness of NECSkills, Abilities & Other RequirementsNew hires will run through an 8-week training course and must be able to pass written and hands on tests covering topics listed under Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTraining class will be conducted on 1st shift regardless of what shift the individual is employed on.Employee is expected to meet or exceed established productivity run rates within 6 months of date of hireWorking & Environmental ConditionsLifting up to 50 lbs. occasionallyConstantly standingFrequently working from a ladder and climbing up and down ladders.Constantly working overheadConstantly working in cramped quartersMore InformationThis job description outlines the essential functions of the job and does not contain a comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties.
