Pay: $21–$29/hour (based on experience) + Overtime Available

A Day in the Shop

You clock in, grab the day’s drawings, and map out the build. With tape measure in hand, you mark and cut stock, then fit components so the layout matches the blueprint—down to the last sixteenth. You tack, check your dimensions, and choose the right process—MIG for speed, TIG for finesse, Flux-Core or Stick when the job calls for it. Between passes, you grind, bevel, and prep. When the welds are in, you inspect your work, confirm tolerances, and move the finished assembly forward—safely and to spec.

What You’ll Do

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan each build
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal components with accuracy
• Perform MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, and/or Stick welding as required by the job
• Lay out and position parts using appropriate tools and fixtures
• Verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet specifications and tolerances
• Operate shop equipment including grinders, saws, torches, and drills
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality and consistency
• Follow all safety procedures and quality standards at every step
