Beachmont Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians. In this role, you will work directly with children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, helping them build communication, social, behavioral, and independent living skills through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

What You'll Do

• Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
• Teach communication, social, self-help, and daily living skills
• Collect behavioral data and complete session documentation
• Collaborate with families and clinical supervisors
• Help individuals increase independence and improve their overall quality of life

Realistic Job Preview

This is a hands-on behavioral health position. Many clients receive ABA services because they engage in behaviors that interfere with learning, safety, relationships, or independence. Behavior Technicians should expect to work with individuals who may exhibit:

• Elopement (running away)
• Tantrums
• Aggression, including hitting, pushing, pinching, scratching, kicking, or biting
• Property destruction
• Self-injurious behavior
• Refusal or non-compliant behaviors
• Emotional regulation challenges

The goal of ABA is not to punish behavior but to teach meaningful replacement skills that help individuals communicate effectively, achieve greater independence, and experience a better quality of life.

Successful Behavior Technicians are typically individuals who:

• Remain patient and composed during challenging situations and can respond professionally when clients engage in behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, or emotional dysregulation.
• Enjoy working directly with people and making a meaningful impact by helping individuals develop communication, social, behavioral, and independent living skills.
• Are coachable and open to feedback, recognizing that ongoing training, supervision, and skill development are essential components of the role.
• Are active, dependable, and adaptable, with the ability to work in dynamic environments while maintaining professionalism, consistency, and attention to client safety.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor
• Ability to move quickly to maintain client safety
• Working in homes, schools, clinics, and community settings
• Participation in role-play and hands-on training activities

Paid Training Provided

All newly hired Behavior Technicians complete Beachmont's paid 6-day training program, which includes:

• New Hire Orientation
• HIPAA Training
• Introduction to ABA
• Reinforcement, Prompting, and Teaching Strategies
• Skill Acquisition and Behavior Reduction Procedures
• Data Collection and Documentation
• Ethics and Professional Conduct
• In-Person Skills Competency Practicum

Training includes online learning, instructor-led training, role-play opportunities, and competency assessments.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 18+ Years Old
• Reliable transportation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to receive coaching and feedback
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred:

• Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
• Background in education, childcare, psychology, healthcare, or behavioral health
