Travel Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE Certification Must-Have: Experience in Labor and Delivery, ability to circulate the OR, titration of Pitocin and Insulin, familiarity with AWHONN guidelines. Description: The unit includes both Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care. Experience in LDRP is required. The unit has 16 L&D beds and 13 Antepartum beds. There are 3 OR suites available for C-sections and 8 triage beds. The Postpartum unit has 32 beds located on another floor. In 2023, there were 4,194 deliveries, averaging between 320-400 per month. AWHONN guidelines for ratios are followed. Common diagnoses include preeclampsia, previa, twins, and diabetic patients. RNs are required to titrate Pitocin and Insulin drips, with common titration ranges specified. There is a charge nurse on each shift who typically does not take patients unless absolutely necessary. The unit is supported by CSTs every shift. An OB Laborist and Neonatologists are present 24/7. CRNAs are also available in-house 24/7. RNs are responsible for initial resuscitation with RT equipment until NICU arrives, but do not engage in troubleshooting. Telemetry/monitor techs are not present on the unit; RNs read their own strips using Centricity Perinatal-GE EFM System. Self-scheduling is allowed, and staff are placed based on needs. Weekend and holiday assignments will be prioritized based on the needs of the unit. Floating to other sites may occur, including to Antepartum. Scrubs are supplied by the unit. Unit-specific orientation includes shifts in Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, and Labor and Delivery OR.
