Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures, specimen processing, and supporting andrology-related tasks. You will coordinate with patients, handle billing and administrative duties, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines while operating under the supervision of the Clinical Lab Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy procedures including patient identification, preparation, and specimen collection/labeling.
• Process samples for testing, ensure proper storage and transportation conditions, and complete all required requisition forms.
• Assist with andrology-related duties as required.
• Confirm patient information, insurance details, and facilitate necessary record updates.
• Generate charges and payment information, route billing, and perform regular billing audits.
• Coordinate with reference and genetic laboratories to manage results and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain computer-generated logs, electronic records, and the RSO to reflect current/pending orders.
• Monitor phlebotomy supplies, conduct inventory counts, and order supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Maintain a sanitary workspace and strictly follow OSHA guidelines for bloodborne pathogen handling and disposal.
• Operate under the direct supervision of the Clinical Lab Supervisor and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Phlebotomy Certificate Required
• Knowledge navigating lab software
• Experience or knowledge collecting payment for services rendered

Skills

• Technical skills in lab software navigation
• Soft skills such as communication and teamwork

Additional Requirements

Work schedule is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with alternating weekends.
