3rd Shift Custodian/CleanerReports To: Facility Supervisor/Head CustodianTakes Direction From: Facility Supervisor/Head Custodian/Shift LeaderSchedule/Calendar: 8 hours/day (10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) 40 hours/week12 Month Benefits Salary: $21.32/hr. Includes Shift DifferentialSummary: The Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned building(s) clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with prescribed codes and established district policies and standards. A custodian must maintain all assigned building(s) in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the education program.Essential Functions:Performs inside and outside cleaning and sanitizing services as assignedPerforms grounds related tasks as required and assignedPerforms minor maintenance repairs and replacements as directedTransports, stores, and maintains an inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies as requiredPerforms restoration of resilient and hard surface floors (stripping, wet vacuuming, rinsing, sealing, waxing, buffing, polishing) as directedCleans carpets (spot removal and shampooing)Provides setups for banquets, concerts, band, health fairs, athletic contests, community education activities, conferences, meetings, and other events, as directedProvides custodial type security services such as building checksAdequately maintains supplies in custodial closets in a neat and orderly conditionPerforms other building maintenance tasks as assigned or directedPerforms snow and ice removal tasks as needed and directedEducation and/or Certification Required: High School Diploma or GEDExperience Needed: Previous custodial experience preferredRequisite Skills:Physical ability to perform tasks described above on a routine basisAbility to work well with peopleAbility to understand and follow simple written or oral instructionsAbility to work standing/walking for long periods of timeAbility to work aloneAbility to lift, push, pull, twist, stand, raise arms above shoulders, stoop to the floor, climb ladders and stairsADA Compliance: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of this position.Physical Requirements: Medium work.
