French-Speaking Teacher (Co-Teaching, Maternity Leave Coverage)

FFLO is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic French‑speaking Toddler Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. You’ll start by co‑teaching our 2's classroom (Toute Petite Section) alongside our director, learning our rhythms, curriculum, and getting to know the children. From late November through roughly February/March, you’ll step into the lead role while our director is on leave, becoming the trusted, familiar face for our toddlers during that time, with our director remaining a reassuring point of contact for parents throughout. You’ll then return to co‑teaching alongside her through the end of the school year in June. Responsibilities Co‑teaching, then independently leading, the toddler classroom during the periods above (approx3months) Supporting daily routines, transitions, and classroom preparation Assisting children with snack, lunch, toileting, and self‑care (this happens multiple times a day) Leading nursery songs, games, and playful, movement‑based activities Building positive adult‑child interactions using the class method Encouraging positive social interactions and emotional development Supervising children indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety and well‑being Communicating warmly and professionally with classroom parents, especially during the lead period Qualifications French native speaker or B2+ level required (comfortable writing professionally in both French and English) Real, hands‑on experience with children under3 (classroom, daycare, nanny, or similar) Warm, patient, reliable, and professional Authorized to work in the United States (we are unable to sponsor visas) Comfortable with messy, sensory play and genuine joy in watching little ones hit new milestones Schedule & Pay 8:00am–2:00pm, starting Monday/Wednesday/Friday (18hrs/week), expanding to Monday–Friday (30hrs/week) as our rolling admissions fills, expected by January Role runs September through June Based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, this role requires reliable, consistent in‑person presence, so we’re looking for candidates who live in or near Brooklyn, Queens, or Manhattan. #J-18808-Ljbffr French For Little Ones (FFLO)
