Description: Teacher (TK-8) TITLE: Teacher (TK-8) REPORTS TO: School Site Principal JOB GOAL: To provide each student with a program that will enable them to reach their fullest potential. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a valid California teaching credential
- Possess EL Authorization, CLAD, or BCLAD
- Advanced training / education is desirable.
- Classroom teaching experience in K-8 is desirable
- Bilingual ability is desirable.
- Primarily responsible for meeting curriculum requirements adopted by the Board of Education
- Provides planned learning experiences in order to motivate pupils and best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, prepares progress reports and communicates with parents regarding their child's progress.
- Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems.
- Provides a functional and attractive environment in the classroom.
- Maintains professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
- Performs basic attendance accounting and business services as required.
- Participates cooperatively in the system of evaluation as stated in the district's guidelines.
- Shares in the sponsorship of student activities and participates in faculty committees as agreed upon.
- Plans and coordinates the work of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals as appropriate.
- Administers group standardized tests in accordance with the district testing programs.
- Develops current lesson plans (daily or weekly) and instructional materials that provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
