Job Title Phlebotomist II Float – Berkeley, CA Shift and Location Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, rotational weekends. Pay Hourly rate: $26.35 – $30.66. Salary based on experience, education, certifications, and organizational factors. Eligible for annual performance bonus. Key Requirements State phlebotomy license is required (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV). High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience. Strong English communication skills. Responsibilities Assign a territory to cover phlebotomy duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor's office, or as business needs dictate. Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing. Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams. Enter billing information and collect payment when required. Coach, mentor, instruct, and act as a resource advisor for new employees; serve as point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
