- # Sr. Controls SpecialistApplylocations: Ione, CAtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: 25798**Company Introduction:**Over 90 years of quality products and superior service.**Job Summary:****Senior Controls Specialist who will be responsible for electrical safety and training, serve as a highly skilled, hands-on troubleshooter whose primary objective is maintaining plant uptime, and whose secondary objective is increasing efficiency, and act as a technical indirect leader and mentor for other instrumentation and electrical personnel. This position will primarily be onsite at our Ione location but will occasionally provide remote support or on-site support for another smaller site, Panamint Valley Limestone (PVL). This position is expected to be available for remote support during unscheduled (non-working) hours when maintenance and electrical personnel are unable to get the plant running. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is technically curious and demonstrates superior written and verbal communication skills.******ESSENTIAL DUTIES********Level Based Competencies***** **Adaptability*** **Technical/Professional Knowledge & Skills*** **Safety Focus*** **Stress Tolerance*** **Decision Making*** **Communication*** **Managing Relationships*** **Planning and Organizing*** **Continuous Improvement*** **Execution*** **Work Standards******Technical knowledge/skills***** **Perform analysis, detailed design (including documentation), capital request preparation, installation, start-up/checkout/debugging, and cost control of assigned projects.*** **Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and equipment modification.*** **Participate in process improvement efforts in support of plant goals.*** **Monitor plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for optimization to achieve plant goals for safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness.*** **Install switches, and perform maintenance on the network as needed, requiring familiarity with industrial networking concepts.*** **Explicitly incorporate stringent electrical safety standards into daily work and system design.*** **Maintain and support the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) environment, including, but not limited to, PLC programming, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) configuration and programming, and logic maintenance.*** **Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees.*** **Manage contractors and maintenance staff during project installations.*** **Create electrical training programs for electrical, instrument, and mechanical teams to stay abreast of federal, state and local regulations.*** **Partner with Plant Mgmt to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.*** **Perform other duties as assigned.******Education/Experience·******An Associate's degree coupled with 5+ years of demonstrated experience in an industrial continuous process atmosphere.****Demonstrated process control experience in defining, designing, installing and maintaining control logic systems and equipment.****Willingness to assume roles of team leader and team member when necessary.****Advanced demonstrated communication skills.******Preferred Qualifications:******A Bachelor's degree coupled with 5+ years of demonstrated experience in an industrial continuous process atmosphere.******Dimensions********No. of direct reports: 0********No. of indirect reports:** 0******Budget Responsibility:********Travel Requirements:** Up to 20% Domestic Travel******Working Conditions:** Work in a heavy industrial environment (Hot, cold, dusty, dirty), requiring frequent hands-on troubleshooting and physical tasks.******Physical Requirements:** Must be able to bend, stoop, climb ladders, work at heights, and be able to lift up to 50lbs.**Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
