We are guided day-to-day by our four core principles.Core Principles:We CareWe are InnovativeWe are CollaborativeWe are ResourcefulBenefits:Reduced Cost Meals every shift on site (All)Employee assistance program (EAP) (All)Insurance coverage: Health, vision, dental, life, supplemental and pet insurance (FT)Flexible spending account (FSA) (FT)Generous Paid time off (PTO) (FT)401k w/company match (FT)Tuition/Professional development assistance (FT)Who You Are:You have a passion for working with the autism population and ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.You get the job done and are capable of strategic thinking while simultaneously rolling up to your sleeves to lead and teach by example.You have the ability to quickly respond to high-urgency situations at a moment's notice.You have the knowledge of security methods and techniques, including loss prevention, crime prevention, investigation, patrolling, traffic control, and the care and custody of persons and property.You have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas both in writing and verbally.You have strong written communication skills, specifically involving documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and other related administrative tasks.Job Responsibilities:Proficient with security software, fire suppression systems, and CCTV systems.Implement emergency response and business continuity procedures when needed.Document and report security incidents accurately and in accordance with policy.Strong customer service skills.Visitor access and access controlsAbility to learn new skills and maintain required certifications, including TCIS.Effective at building relationships and collaborating across departments.Perform assigned daily security duties and patrols, including extensive walking and stair climbing.Respond appropriately to safety concerns and emergency situations.Participate in required safety and security training and drills.Position Requirements:High School diploma, GED or equivalent requiredValid NYS Security Guard license or in the process of obtaining oneValid Driver's License with the ability to pass a DMV driving abstract screening is required.Experience working as a security guard or in a similar position, i.e., a Sworn Law Enforcement, military or security officer is preferred.NYS Security Guard License or completion of the 8-hour pre-employment class16 Hour Security Training must be completed within the first 90 days of employment.You must be able to ambulate around the campus, including hills, stairs, grass and gravel.Student Facing Positions: Must be able to react and move quickly during student crisis, both for the safety of the student and for the staff. Must be able to run across the campus and throughout the school to catch/monitor an eloping student, and/or to remove yourself from an unsafe situation. You must be able to pass TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training for Schools).
